Activism and the Art of Nursing Think Tank – update #1

We will post updates and planning logistics here and under the 2019 Think Tank tab for your reference and convenience. These messages will also be disseminated via email if you have signed up for the Think Tank (link to sign up here). Please be sure to answer the question about whether you are willing to share your information for collaboration/organization purposes – I would like to connect people in advance and this is one way we can do that.

Those that have already signed up received an email today sharing contacts for others who have RSVPed. We have an array of interests and expertise, which is super exciting. Review, connect, engage! If you tweet, consider adding us (Vanessa is @radical_nurses and Jess is @radicalnurses). Use the hashtag #radicalnursing and #RNthinktank2019 to tag this exciting event.

If you are beginning to think about lodging in the area, a couple of tips. The areas closest to Augusta University, where we will be meeting and working, are Downtown, Old Town, and Summerville. There are an array of options for housing, from hotels (my recommendations based on proximity below) to rentals to dorm rooms (waiting on final confirmation, but will share as soon as I can).

  • Downtown Holiday Inn Express
  • Downtown Marriott
  • VRBO offering that sleeps 11, for people interested in house-sharing here
  • Sweet AirBnB in the heart of downtown, <5m from our rendezvous point, link here
  • Dorms – check it out here [link forthcoming]

Please please feel free to reach out to me (Jess) as you begin to make your arrangements if you have questions about the area! We are looking forward to seeing you this summer!

In peace and power,

Jess
