Reading-to-Action

As we think about the additional work that needs to be done in our discipline to build a more just, equitable future for nursing, we see merit in reading important works. But we also know reading is not enough. Join us for a Reading-to-Action initiative, a collaborative effort including Jess and co-conspirator, nurse radical, and emancipatory educator Claire Valderama-Wallace.

Each text we choose will center antiracist, anticolonial, queer, feminist, or otherwise liberatory perspectives. Our conversation will start with a twitter chat using the tags #UprootRacism and #TransformNursing, which will be followed up with small-group Zoom sessions with the intent of developing strategies and approaches for putting the ideas we’ve read about into clinical, research, educational, and policy practice.
